TRANSCRIPTION PROJECT PROJECT INFORMATION
PROJECT DESCRIPTION We are a reality TV show production company looking to outsource our transcription work. We typically do QA's with our guest; sometimes if the show has a lot of dialog we will do the entire show. The projects files (tapes) are typical 30 minutes long, some shows require 50-70 tapes a week and last for months. The process will entail us taking raw footage and digitizing it into our systems. We will then compress it into a Real Media file and FTP to our server where you will be able to download it. The files (tapes) are slated and numbered. You will transcribe them into a Word document file and then email it back to us. The volume of the amount of work depends on the show. High average shows are 70-80 files a week or 200-300+ tapes per show. We will start off slow since this is a new process, and you will need to see what volume works best for you. Just to give you some background on this industry, the process of transcribing should take double the time of the file length. Thus, a half hour file would be an hour long. If the file is only 10 minutes in length, you still get paid for the full hour. Since you are new to the process it might take you 1-1.5 hours per file for the first few files. The turnaround time needs to be with in 24-48hrs typically. Some files will have a shorter turnaround time so we will pay extra for those. The pay rate is $15 per file transcribed. You will need to download our test file from the web page to get a sense of what the files will be like. Also you will need to transcribe the file and send it back to us in a Word doc in our prescribed format, and then we will do an accuracy test on your document. You will need to be in the range of 89% to 95% accuracy to be considered for this project. FYI: You will need Real Media Player to view these files and a good set of headphones.
