DESCRIPTION
The consultant has 17 yrs of experience in Govt of India, engineering consultancy firm (MECON LIMITED, an ISO 9001 company) and 5 years as freelance consultant. He has wide exposure from basic engg to detailed engg of multi disciplinary mega projects related to Water resources development, water conditioning and supply, waste water engineering, municipal sanitation infrastructure, industrial water systems, urban sanitation, hydrology, storm water management, canal and pipe hydraulics, ventilation, air pollution control, air-conditioning and as domain expert in GIS applications. He is also an auditor for ISO 9000 & 14000.

KEY COMPETENCIES

• 22 years of experience in civil and project detailed engineering consultancy organisations in a multi-disciplinary consultancy from to basic engineering to detailed engineering in project engineering. The type of projects include townships, industries, water resources development, infrastructure projects related to water and environment. He is associated with multi-disciplinary groups dealing with water resources development, environmental engg and urban sanitation from basic engineering to detailed engineering including preparation of technical specification and tendering schedules.

• The consultant had the opportunity to involve in engineering and consultancy projects in oil refinery and pipelines industry related to oil water systems, oil water separation, effluent treatment plants, water treatment plants, cooling water recirculation, sea water once through cooling systems, fire water hydrant systems, domestic water, sewage collection and treatment, storm water management, condensate and steam trap water collection and conservation.

• Detailed engineering surface water sourcing, treatment, distribution and recycling including preparation of tender documents and tender schedule.

• Hydrology, hydraulics, canal engineering and watershed management.

• Exposed to in depth practices in design and engineering of waste water and sewage collection, treatment, reuse and disposal including compliances.

• Urban sanitation for water supply, sewerage and storm water. The consultant has been involved in urban sanitation projects and municipal engineering for world bank, DFID, ADB. AUSAID, AfDB for augmentation of water and sanitation facilities in 6 towns with population above 3 lakhs. He was also associated with private sector participation (PSP) in municipal water supply facilities for 4 towns in Bangladesh with population above 2.5 lakhs under bank project. He was involved in world bank water restructuring projects in Nairobi, Muscat, kampala and Lesotho.

• In depth exposure to EIA study technics and methods since 1986 in industrial, mining and corridor projects like highways and waterways including risk mitigation and quantitative risk assessment including the latest methods.

• Detailed engg of sewerage and sewage treatment in heavy industry and townships of metals and mining, petroleum and petrochemical, and industrial estates & oil industry.

• Domain expert for GIS applications including remote sensing for sustainable development, VISION 2020 resources planning, sensitivity assessment and e-governance for municipal administration.

• ISO 9001 and 14000 auditor with a focused outcome.

SKILLS
The consultant had the opportunity to involve in a few bank and industry aided projects related to:

1. Development of a shore based petrochemical and pharmaceutical industrial (APIIC funded) estate comprising of 400 medium and small industries with common infrastructural and environmental management facilities for industrial services, primary and secondary effluent treatment plant facilities with marine disposal and land disposal provisions. Marine disposal facilities include dilution capacity calculations and dispersion pipe design with 24 Kms of on shore pipeline and 4 kms submarine pipeline for effluent disposal.

2. Urban water supply, storm water management, sewerage up gradation in four towns of A.P under DFID funds coordinated by APUSP, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. Additional schemes have been made for augmentation of municipal engineering and water supply facilities in these four towns along with detailed engg survey, preparation of schemes, EPANET analysis and detailed engg including preparation of execution drawings and technical specifications along with tender schedules. Development of GIS database for the above and interconnecting MIS data GIS data of municipalities for e-governance and utilities tax collection.

3. Private Sector Participation (PSP) of water supply, urban sanitation and irrigation infrastructure, involving NGOs/WUA and preparation of tender documents for PSP participation including LRMC estimates for all the schemes and augmentations required,detailed technical specification, execution planning, monitoring and evaluation as per the world bank guidelines using French model.

4. River valley planning and comprehensive study of river valley as a watershed unit for regional economic development, poverty eradication, improvement in health, hygiene and livelihoods of habitation in the river valley.

Provides technical support, guidance in design, drawing and tender specification preparation to primary consultant’s team of engineers. Provides consultancy to industrial clients for their infrastructure development in utilities, services and environmental management compliance management. My moment for these fixed term project assignments shall be on single status only and need work permit outside india.

He is involved in more than 100 design reports and EIA/EMP/EMS statement reports for infrastructure, irrigation, industry sanitation and other development projects.
