DESCRIPTION
Zopehosting.ru was established in 1999, when first server fully dedicated to Zope was deployed in Russian University Network, a federal satellite network, interconnected with different STM backbones - RUNNet.ru project. Since that time, our hosting service was in charge of serving the russian Zope community.

The aim of the project was to implement new opensource technologies of object publishing in commercial hosting service. Looking into the past of Soviet federal networks, and into the future of Russian telecommunications, we've chosen the most reliable network in Russian Federation to cope with the load, and Linux Debian operating system, to cope with control.

In 2000, we started hosting ZoPyRus mailing list, which is the most popular resource for professional Zope and Python developers. Run by zope.net.ru project, this mailing list shares large knowledge base on the topic of opensource object publishing and object-oriented programming.

In late 2001, the total connectivity bandwidth of our hosting network reached 2 Gbit/s. That was a step ahead any commercial network in Eastern Europe. Redundant channels of our native backbone network spanned all across Asia, having gates of sattelite links with large amounts of networks.

In the beginning of 2004, we upgraded our core servers to 64-bit AMD technology. By the end of 2004, RUNNet.ru upgraded its European access channels to two STM-16 pipes. Total European bandwidth of the network is about 3 GBit/s and growing.

We're glad to be serving our clients, giving life to the foregoing technology of object-oriented hosting.
