UNITED STATES OUTSOURCING COMPANY
CXO Advisory Group
USA Business Development
DESCRIPTION
The USA Business Development Service will enable companies who have been successful in their home country to access guidance, research and services to successfully plan, establish and grow their international business in the US and Canadian markets. This service provides assistance in growing your revenue, increasing market share and maximizing your effectiveness in building new distribution channels in North America.
Major Activities
1. Strategic Business Audit
a. We begin by performing an internal evaluation of the corporation, analyzing the business plan, interviewing key personnel, reviewing available market research, laying out a schedule of milestones, then interviewing key customers of the corporation. The objective is:
i. To obtain a sufficient understanding of the company and its products to enable to develop a profile of the ideal channel or strategic partner;
ii. Learn enough about how the product is sold and supported in the vendor’s domestic market to be able to present the business opportunity to potential partners;
iii. Identify any weaknesses in the company’s channel support program;
iv. To rapidly identify soft or missing spots in the company's overall business and sales strategy and develop a prioritized plan for filling the gaps.
b. Prior to meeting with the client we ask that the client provide for review:
i. The company's business plan, marketing materials, VC and customer presentations, sales channel support materials, background market research, competitive analysis, details of new product plans, details of marketing activities to date, copies of any strategic alliance or OEM agreements in place, detailed sales figures, previous needs assessments, any previous audits, list of customers and their profiles as well as resumes and job descriptions of key personnel.
c. A 1-2 hour onsite-meeting with the client to make sure that we understand the client's objectives in the USA, to know what resources are available, agree on marketing/sales and channel marketing support materials that need to be updated or created, and agree on the profile of an ideal channel partner and customer as well as discuss preliminary timelines. We will also assist the client in developing a realistic sales and marketing plan to serve as a roadmap as we move forward.
2. Channel and Strategic Partner Recruitment and Management
a. Working with the client we will identify potential prioritized list of business partners and customers, then make initial contact and gauge their real level of interest. This list will be evaluated against the prime customer/channel partner profile developed above.
b. We would then attempt to schedule meetings for the client to present their products to the prospective business partner at the potential partners' office.
c. We will use our best efforts to assist the client to conclude and sign agreements with potential customers, business and channel partners.
d. We will assist the client in supporting and managing the customer, business or channel partner relationship to help the partners focus on generating revenue and sales for an agreed upon period of time. This will most probably involve regular phone calls, site visits, meetings, etc.
