Integra Micro Systems Private Limited is a twenty-four-year-old software development organization with a rich track record of providing quality services to global customers. The offshore development services are provided out of Integra's facilities in Bangalore, India.
The focus of the company is in providing offshore development services for global customers in systems software areas such as telecom, software development tools, embedded systems, device drivers, networking, and business application areas such as manufacturing, finance and telecom billing.
Integra comes with a history of product development. Integra has several products which became the industry standard in India in the fields of networking, document imaging, and office automation. It was the first company in India and the fifth in the world to launch a Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) server.
Integra's traditional strengths are in the systems software and high technology areas. During the early years, Integra carried out the porting of the UNIX kernel and utilities for major hardware vendors in India. Later, it developed device drivers for optical jukeboxes and scanners under UNIX, Sun OS, AIX, and Windows NT.
From porting, Integra moved on to product development under UNIX, releasing suites of products in the areas of office automation (word processor, spreadsheet, electronic mail, etc.), UNIX-PC connectivity, utilities (data entry, sort/merge), compilers (BASIC), and specialized applications (linear programming, project management).
UNIX products were followed by MS-DOS products in the areas of connectivity and networking, security, telecommunication, scanning and imaging, and word processing.
When windowing platforms became popular, Integra ported and re-engineered its products to work on GUI environments in a natural manner.
Customized development of software for overseas customers began in 1996. Today, Integra Micro Software Services (IMSS), a subsidiary of Integra, focuses exclusively on providing software development services to customers and IMSS has over 300 engineers dedicated for offshore development services to customers in the USA, Europe, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan. This number is expected to grow to over 350 by June 2005. Integra has two subsidiaries in India, and one each in Singapore and the USA, which provide marketing and support to worldwide customers.
