How We Work
Teaming up with Aquent Offshore Publishing Services is as easy as working with a vendor down the street. You’re assigned your own local Aquent representative. There are no language barriers to worry about. No technology or time zone differences to overcome. Even money is no obstacle—all payments will be in your currency.

Our production staff is led by a local manager with fifteen+ years of offshore experience at two of the industry’s top publishers. Supplemented by a large pool of prescreened, English-speaking creative and technical talent, our studios offer a complete suite of composition and data-conversion solutions for print and electronic publishing.

In addition to excellent staff, our facility also has access to the latest high-speed networking technology, eliminating distance as a barrier to business and making our offshore studios as close as home.

SKILLS
Services
Aquent Offshore Publishing can assume full responsibility for book, journal, and directory production management from the manuscript stage to file delivery to the printer. Or, if you prefer, select only the services you need.

Full-Service Project Management
If you don’t have the time—or the inclination—to handle the soup-to-nuts process of shepherding a project through production, Aquent can assume full responsibility for the process. Working with you, and on your behalf, we will:
• Manage relationships with author, editor, publisher, and creative/production staff
• Manage production schedule and budget
• Monitor copyright permissions, if required
• Supply final deliverables to the printer

A la Carte Publishing Services
If you’ve got most—but not all—of the prepress or production process covered for your next big textbook or journal, Aquent can fill in the gaps quickly and professionally. We’re particularly good at the time-consuming, detail-oriented jobs that take up too much of your in-house staff’s time, such as keyboarding. We can also help you with:
• Copy editing
• Typesetting
• Front-end XML/SGML workflow-based composition that simultaneously produces content for print and electronic formats
• Graphic design and illustration
• Animation and other multimedia capabilities
• Translation services for virtually any language (through our Prague office)
• Color and black and white graphic reproduction, including scanning of halftones and line illustrations, redrawing or re-lettering figures or diagrams
• Advanced coding, such as NIMAS, SGML and XML, and e-book conversion projects for internet publishing

Payment terms can be monthly or upon completion of a project. Prices and turnaround times may vary. Aquent strongly suggests contacting us for a free quote and/or trial.
